Pharmacy Technicians assist licensed pharmacists in hospitals, pharmacies and nursing homes. They fill prescriptions and handle paperwork. Medical terminology, math skills and attention to detail are vital skills needed to be successful in this profession. Our program provides an overview of the pharmacy field and develop the fundamental concepts and principles necessary for successful participation in the field. In just 14 weeks, you can obtain your National Certification and begin your journey.

Typical Responsibilities

  • Measuring the amount of medication for prescriptions
  • Packaging and labeling prescriptions
  • Collecting information needed to fill prescriptions from customers/healthcare professionals
  • Entering customer information into the database (including prescriptions that were already taken)
  • Inventory management
  • Operate automated dispensing equipment
  • Preparing reports by collecting and summarizing information

Certifications

Upon completion of the program you'll be certified in the following:

Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT)

This certification can be issued by the National Healthcare Association (NHA), Medical Career Assessment (MedCA) or American Medical Certification Association (AMCA).

Real World Training
