Ari Clara
My name is Ari Clara and I am the Assistant Director at Ideal School of Allied Health Care. I was born and raised in El Salvador. I came to the United States in 2007 hoping to find better opportunities. It was challenging to learn English at the beginning. Babysitting full time for 3 years helped me with my fluency in English. Many children I used to babysit were learning how to speak and so did I. I became interested in taking a Certified Nurse Assistant once I felt more comfortable with my language skills , and I completed the course. I worked in home care for 8 years while I attended college. I completed my associates degree in Nassau Community College where I earned a scholarship and transferred to Adelphi University. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2019. I started working as a Registered Nurse in North Shore University Hospital as a telemetry nurse. With the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic I worked at the designated COVID Unit at the same hospital. I feel proud of my hispanic roots and I know how difficult it can be to earn a degree in a foreign country. I became increasingly passionate about helping in my community. I chose nursing as my profession because nursing is a unique profession that incorporates science, and the art of caring for others with a mission: comfort others in a holistic manner with compassion and dignity. I chose nursing as my profession as I feel drawn to help those in need. I have an interest in the welfare of others. As an Assistant Director my mission is to empower individuals seeking a career opportunity in healthcare. I want to continue to educate Spanish speaking women as a Home Health Aide instructor and encourage them to continue their education.
